Emily's Spirit

The reason we are starting this page is because Emily was supposed to start a job Thursday at, Yankee Candle. Neither her, nor her husband have an income right now until his disability from the Army kicks in. Jon just spent the last 6 yrs of his life in the US Army! Still they will need help with medical bills and such. I talked with them and thought it may be a good idea right now to get some help this way, from family and friends.
This all started with a cough and her losing weight while we lived in Texas, which we assumed was from her working her new job, which was very physical. We left Texas May 26th and we drove from Fort Hood to Massachusetts, almost 2000 miles. None of us knew Emily was so sick. It took us 4 days  to get back home.  Since she has been home, her cough got worse and she developed a huge lump on her neck, she finally couldnt take the pain and  asked to go to the ER. We spent the whole day with testing and most came back as  Lymphoma, they were not sure whether it was Hodgkins or Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma.  After numerous Cat scans and Xrays , lab work, they were able to tell that Emily had an enormous amount of fluid around her lungs and her heart. They also noticed a 14 mm mass in the center of her chest and some on each side of her neck.  The best scenario was for her to have Hodgkins Lymphoma, it has a great survival rate and is relatively quick at recovery. None the less Emily is a 25 yr old young girl and I am still shocked that my daughter has cancer.
That day I watched her take needle, after needle, to remove the fluid from her around her lung and they ended up draining almost 800 cc from her lungs. An IV bag holds 1200cc , so you can imagine how much was in there. That was the day I knew she was a strong cookie and she was going to make it through this crap!! Today is day 3, she had a surgery today in which they took out a golf ball sized lymph node from her neck. The doctor told me that she had them going all down her throat and into her chest, after the surgery.  She did great though. She was eating and drinking afterwards. A few hours later she was watching a thunder storm with her family in the waiting room of the hospital .She has amazing spirit and the only thing she is worried about is her dang bills!  This is where yall come in . Shes not worried about losing her hair or any of that. Just her bills. Bless her heart!
Now  we play the waiting game on which path we will take for recovery. I will keep everyone updated on her progression. Thank you so much for your donation or just for sharing because, sharing is helping too. Maybe you dont have the monetary means to help but someone you know may so please please share either way!!!! These funds will be directly deposited into Jon and Emily's bank account. Thank you again from,  Mom (Roxanne) Dad, (Kipp), Jon & Emily <3
