Emergency Bills For My Dad&His Dog

Tuesday, April 18th my father and his dog "Josh" (who was on a leash) were attacked while walking back to the dock on Catalina island by 2 pit bulls who were NOT on a leash. After the attack, Josh stayed on the island with the vet to undergo surgery for his injuries while my father had to be airlifted to a trauma center in Torrance to begin the process of mending him back together again. We are very grateful to the vet in Catalina for saving Josh's life and for our friends who were able to bring Josh back home on their boat. We all know that in the midst of a crisis, you do what you have to do to save your life and the lives of a loved one. This has been an extremely emotional time for my family and unfortunately, my father faces a very long road to recovery - emotionally and physically. My father was recently transferred to a hospital closer to our house that will make it easier for us to be by his side and provide the support that he needs. We are currently awaiting skin graph surgery to help patch the back of his legs up. In the meantime, my father got a surprise visit from josh on Sunday (click on update to see more pics) that was very emotional and rewarding. Please know that we are beyond grateful for all your donations, prayers, and heartfelt comments. My family is very humbled as we witness complete strangers pouring out their love to us ❤️. Unfortunately, we have a financial burden to absorb with continued vet bills, hospital bills and on going care, as well as the ever expensive helicopter ride that my dad had take in order to get him to safety. Though we will definitely be seeking financial support from the pit bulls owners, (based on feedback received) we are not hopeful that our financial needs will be met.
