Urgent Help Needed

Namaste dear Friends. I pray that you all are well and enjoying all the richest blessings of life. Life here is pretty good, but please forgive me, I regret that I have to run another of these campaigns in aid of getting my mobility scooter fixed. It has served me well, and I hope it will for many more years, but it really needs some major work, and quickly, if I'm to get back to normal useage of it.

This year has been hard on my poor scooter, after a couple of accidents, and falling over on top of me a couple of times, as well as general wear and tear, it is now in dire need of servicing and various things like repairs, new front tires and new batteries are called for.

The batteries have worn out quicker than expected and no longer will take me any great distance. It should go 23 miles on a charge, but I'm fortunate if I can go 2 or 3 miles with the current battery status.

After a couple of times nearly running completely out of juice and having to get off and push recently (not an easy task), I am finally convinced of the need for new batteries, which are not cheap and for some reason only are guaranteed for 6 months. Seems to be the standard in the industry. Why, I have no idea, but there you have it.

The front tires are also pretty bald from all the heavy duty abuse the less-than-perfect sidewalks of this city have thrown at them, and now one of them is punctured, so needs a new inner tube as well as a tire. Thankfully, the back tires are in pretty good shape, but will have to be changed eventually, not just yet though. The machine is also long overdue for a good servicing, as an example, the steering column has become so loose as to be dangerous. I know, because it has almost caused accidents several times.

Of course, until I can get the punctured tire fixed, I'm basically grounded, with no way to get out and about and run all the errands I need to do. I also need to be sure that the machine is roadworthy for winter, and bald tires just will not cut it. Thus the reason for the timing of this campaign.

Adding up all the stuff which needs to be fixed, the new batteries, and all the needed maintenance, I'm estimating that it will cost a minimum of about $1,200, perhaps more, depending on the total of the necessary repairs. The people who do the work are pretty decent and provide service at a reasonable cost, so hopefully they will get it all fixed as soon as possible.

I know that this time of year is a bad time for asking  people to donate to one of these campaigns. It's not fair to ask anyone to help, but unfortunately, this is the only way to do it, as the disability people, won't cover any of the associated costs of maintenance and repair,  because they did not provide the machine in the first place, so I'm limited to this way of raising money.

Once again, I am sorry to be having to do this to try and raise money. I really don't like to do it, but being on a small pension, there is little choice. So, I ask you to search your heart and if you feel you wish to contribute, it is much appreciated. If you feel you can't, please don't worry. I'm sure it will all work out perfectly, but if you could send some kind thoughts and prayers this way, they will also be much appreciated. Thank you and God bless all here. :)
