Emergency help for Funeral Expenses

Im asking family and friends to help me with my brother's funeral Expenses. As it is, he didn't have life insurance and was living on SSI benefits . He has been battling cancer for 2 years now.
This morning around 2 am, he went to the restroom and lost consciousness and fell against the tub which resulted in 2 ribs being broken and thrashing through his lung. When his wife ran to his rescue, she found him not breathing. When the EMS arrived, they couldn't find a pulse. They had to shock him back, not only once but twice more at the hospital.
They took him to ICU where he later passed away at 2 pm this evening.
I'm not one to ask for help, but tonight, I come to you with a humble saddened heart.
I'm asking that if you can help me with this expense, I will be eternally grateful to you.
When I spoke to the funeral director today, he said it would be around $5000.00 with the most modest service. But we will know more tomorrow and I will update you.
