El Manaro kava bar in Port Vila has become a temporary home to 50 people evacuated from the island of Ambae because of dangerous levels of volcanic activity.
They include babies, children and elderly people. They are members of the extended family of Kathy and Abel Nako who are the owners of El Manaro.
The family group is safe but there is very limited infrastructure. They have left behind their homes, possessions, livestock, pets, and means of food production and income generation.
Cash is needed now to provide shelter, food, bedding, clothing and other essential items.
Please help us to support this family group who are among 11,000 people who have been displaced . Other than fees paid to GoFundMe, all the money raised will be provided to the community group that is working to support Kathy, Abel and their family.
