Team Elliott

I did everything right. I got all of the dna testing done that was offered, aside from amnio, which was not seen to be needed for any reason. We bought everything under the sun to bring home our beautiful boy and keep him happy and safe and to help him develop. At this point, though it is not confirmed, Elliott's symptoms point to a genetic disease called SMA. It is not curable and is fatal. However, there is a new treatment considered to be a miracle drug. This may make his life longer and help him retain muscle tone. The testing takes a long time. It won't even be sent out until Monday (05/22/2017). Then we wait for results. Please respect the weight this has cast upon us. We hold out hope for a better diagnosis but prepare ourselves for the worst case scenario. Please pray for us to have the strength and wisdom to face this and for the comfort and happiness of Elliott. ~Jonni aka Elliott's Mommy
