Ellie's Surgery

Donation protected
Hey friends,

I've started this campaign to help raise money for my pup's, Ellie, surgery.

Ellie is a one year old Jack Russell Terrier. She enjoys socks, peanut butter, squeaky toys and smelly things.

We aren't sure how it happened, but Ellie fractured her tibia on her back left leg at doggy daycare. She currently has a splint on her leg. In most cases, if a splint is on the leg for 4-8 weeks, the leg will heal just fine. That being said, when the vet did x-rays, he saw some other potential problems that could undo the healing process of her tibia.

After seeing her x-rays, the vet pointed out two other problems. Her knee cap is on the right side of the leg rather than in front of her knee. The vet also sees too much space in between the femur and the tibia, coming to the conclusion that her joint capsule is too thin.

The only way to truly confirm and correct these issues is to take her to the animal hospital at Virginia Tech for surgery. There is a bit of a waiting period at VT, so we're estimating the surgery date to be mid June.

The funds raised from this campaign will go straight into our "Peanut Butter & Ellie" fund to pay her vet bills.

Our family has never had a dog with this much personality. She treats each of us like we're a member of her pack. Even though she steals my shoe inserts, eats deer poo and gets into trouble daily, she has made a huge place in our hearts.

We are grateful for anything anyone can provide.

Thank you,
Michelle Williams
