Ellie the Brave
Donation protected
Ben & Jenny Hoban's four year old daughter, Ellie, is sweet and spunky with a twinkle in her eye and a bounce in her step. She was also recently diagnosed with Neuroblastoma. Neuroblastoma is a rare pediatric cancer (only 700 kids in the US are diagnosed annually), which, in Ellie’s case, is anticipated to require over a year of treatment to beat.
"Ellie the Brave" will have access to local, high quality care at Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital in Chicago and the Hobans have excellent health insurance. However, there will certainly be unexpected out of pocket medical costs related to her treatment.
The Hoban family has been overwhelmed by the generosity of family and friends offering to help out in any way possible. In lieu of a meal train or other items, at this time we want to focus our collective efforts into fundraising to help pay for any future medical treatments not covered by insurance. As we support the Hoban family, please consider a donation to the "Ellie the Brave" Go Fund Me account set up for this purpose. Once "Ellie the Brave" has kicked this cancer, any unused funds will be donated to Children's Oncology at Lurie Children's Hospital to help families experiencing hardship because of a cancer diagnosis.
** The Hoban Family appreciates your discretion in not sharing/posting any information on social media at this time.**
***Go Fund Me is an online platform that makes it easy to set up donations and send well wishes, however there is a 2.9% processing fee and $.30 per transaction fee. If you would prefer an alternative donation method, you can use the following link paypal.me/elliethebrave or write a check directly and contact the organizer if you need mailing/drop-off instructions***
