Ella’s new house
Donation protected
It seems surreal that we have lost the Zuma Sanctuary to the Woolsey fire on Nov.11. More than a breathtaking space that hosted fantastic wedding ceremonies, shoots and celebrations, that oasis was the house of a beloved family. Luiza & Jeremy built every single part of their house with endless thought and love to make it a home. It was a magical place, surrounded by an enchanted forest, one of the most peaceful and sacred retreats in Malibu.
It was the home of 2 dogs, Lola and Zé, chickens, a bee hive and a green house with all kinds of herbs and vegetables (Lu is an herbalist). It was the home of many friends, welcomed on a daily basis. It was the home of many gatherings, prayers, and just recently, the celebration of Ella's life. Ella was born in February 2018 and we all call her fairy. She filled that house with even more joy and we all felt like the house gained a whole new light after she arrived.
When the evacuation order was received, Jeremy was out of town, and Luiza was alone with Ella at the house. They had to rush out and pretty much packed just enough to survive the day, hoping that that nightmare was going to end, and they would return home sooner than later. Sadly, that was not the case. After long sleepless hours of watching the news without knowing, they finally heard, their house didn't survive. Everything they owned was burned with the house, all of their clothes, their documents, their memories.
They do well for themselves, and thankfully, they have insurance. But this is going to be a long and painful process. They will have immediate needs, especially for Ella.
Let's help this beloved family during this terrible times. Together, we can ease a little bit of their pain, and bring hope that we can soon rebuild their home and bring magic back to the Zuma Sanctuary. Anything you can donate helps!
