Elijah Gonzalez is an adorable 22 month old toddler and he has an extremely rare form of terminal brain cancer. The family has been told that he has between two weeks to two months left to live. Neither parent is able to work at this time due to caring for Elijah’s medical needs, and they do not want to miss any of Elijah’s final moments as a family.
Please help financially support Elijah’s family so that they can enjoy their last days with him instead of having to worry about expenses or being forced to return to work before he passes away.
Elijah was diagnosed with an extremely rare cancerous brain tumor called Atypical Teratoid/Rhabdoid Tumor (AT/RT) one week shy of his first birthday. He has been fighting cancer for the last eleven months and has spent more than half his life in Children’s Hospital Colorado. He never had a first birthday party and the parents do not know if he’ll live long enough to see his second birthday on January 25th.
Elijah may receive access to an experimental drug called Tazemetostat because Denver Fox 31 Problem Solvers and investigative reporter Rob Low ran a spot on 12/14 showcasing the family’s desperate need for a ray of hope to save Elijah’s life. If Elijah receives the medication, it may extend his life and give the family more time with sweet Elijah, and possibly celebrate Christmas and Elijah’s second birthday together.
