My name is Endy Ifeanyi and I created this GoFundMe page for the benefit of my fiancé's stepfather, Russ Bellanger. Russ began suffering from several chronic conditions which forced him away from his job as a security officer. He applied for disability in 2015, but the claim is still pending more than four years later. Russ' medical conditions make it extremely difficult for him to stand, let alone walk.
Degenerative disk disease in Russ' back causes chronic pain which worsens the longer he stand and limits the distance he can walk without suffering extreme pain.
Dupuytren's disease causes the tissue underneath the surface of Russ' hands to thicken and contract leading to twitching and pain. This makes using a regular wheel chair impractical for him.
Diabetes and neuropathy causes constant pain and numbness in Russ' feet which causes pain when he walks.
Due to the severity of Russ' conditions, he relies on his amazing wife, Arienne, to help him get around. As incredible as Arienne is, she's quite petite, so a lightweight, portable chair would make their lives much easier. Russ' doctor told him there is only a small chance that insurance would cover an electric chair, but it would not be lightweight, nor portable.
