Piglet wandered up to me on the street and seemed to be asking for help.

He was very underweight, swaying on his feet from illness/exhaustion/hunger and I knew I couldn't leave him there. So I scooped him up and took him to the vet.
We discovered that he is indeed a very sick boy. He has an upper respiratory infection, anemia, severe digestive tract issues, and low protein and albumen. His white blood cell count is through the roof and he weighed just 4.7 pounds when I found him (he should weigh about 10.) He also had tapeworms, so hopefully treating that will help with weight gain.
I am currently fostering him to try and get him back on a healthy track so that he can be adopted out. Unfortunately, we are not currently in the financial position to have spent the money we already have to save his life, but we felt like it was the only humane thing to do.
So we're asking for your help.
Right now he requires special food, steroids, antibiotics (shots and pills), worm treatment, flea treatment, and iron, probiotic and lysine supplements - plus we had to buy all the basic stuff cats need (litter and such.) I am also trying to raise enough to also take care of the dental work he will need when he is strong enough for the procedure.
Piglet has a chance for a full recovery but it's going to be a slow and steady climb. He gained half a pound at his one-week checkup, so we're seeing small progress already!
If you are able to contribute, all the money will go to his care. If we raise more than we end up needing, the remaining funds will be donated to SICSA, (http://www.sicsa.org/) a local rescue.
