Decorah Community Recreation Center

Over 1/3 of the adult population is obese.  Almost 1/5 of kids are obese.  These are sad statistics about our society, and we'd like to do our part to address this.

Our small community has many instructors of activities like martial arts, aerobics, yoga, pilates, etc.  But few locations to offer these classes.

With the help of a local business man who was willing to offer us affordable rent in one of his buildings, we have found the space. 

Now we are looking for funding to pay for equipment and supplies to offer these classes.  Most of the funds will go towards purchasing mats to offer a safer environment.  We are also looking to purchase paint for the walls, furniture for a study room, seating for parents (for kids classes), and class specific supplies (like pads for the martial arts classes).

This is the main activity room.  Looking to add mats here...



As you can better see in this picture, the carpetting needs either replacing or at least a good cleaning...
