Assistance Dog for my sister

Donation protected
In 2017 my sister Gemma (age: 26) was diagnosed with a rare eye condition called Retinitis Pigmentosa which is on going and will keep deteriorating and will lose her sight completely, when that will be is unknown.
Gemma also has hearing loss since birth so with the two conditions linked it is called Ushers Syndrome.
Since finding out this devastating news Gemma is no longer able to drive which has been the hardest thing for her as she used to be so independent and feels she’s lost all of her confidence to go out and about on her own.

Gemma would love to get an Assistant Dog to help her get out into the community on her own again and gain back her confidence. The process to getting an assistant dog is a 2+ year waiting list once you have been approved so therefore she would love to get her own dog and train it herself to becoming an assistance dog for herself.
To achieve this comes at a big cost to purchasing the dog, vet bills, puppy school and on going training, food and dog supplies.

Gemma has a massive love for dogs and they just bring her so much joy and happiness and for her to be able to get a dog would really change her life.

I would appreciate any kind of support and thank you for reading this story.
