College Tuition

Hello, my name is Diana and I am an undeclared freshman at Colorado State University- Fort Collins. I am also a first generation student and the first in my family of five to attend college. Over Thanksgiving break, I came out to my family and their response was not very accepting. My father was helping me pay for my tuition, but the news of having a gay daughter did no sit well with him and he stopped helping me pay for school. I have no other way to pay for school as of this moment. They cut ties with me, but I stay hopeful that they will come around. I have applied to various scholarships, but no success has come off these applications. This won't stop me from continuing to apply. I have also landed a job recently, but I won't be in time to pay for my second semester of school. I come here to ask for help. I am a very well rounded individual and a very good student. I put others before me and I always give a lending hand to fellow friends in the time of need. I received a lot of rejection my senior year of high school from scholarship applications, and I always thought it was because I did not have a good enough GPA, but I realized that it was just very competitive given that I presented a 3.43 in my applications. College is all new to me, but it has taught me that I am capable of great success with the education that I am receiving. I deserve to be here in school because I have worked with lots of determination and ambition throughout my early educational career. I don't want to stop attending school because my opportunity to obtain a college level education won't be thrown away knowing that not everyone has the chance to sit in a college class and I got this far. I have worked very hard all semester to have good grades. With a lot of positivity, determination, and hope, my dream is to graduate from college with a diploma in Landscape Business Management. Anything helps and it will be very well appreciated. Thank you for at least reading my story.
