Education Before Menstruation

We are a collective of roller derby athletes who have been shaken by this article from the Independent, stating that cisgender, trans and non binary people assigned female at birth all over the UK are missing school due to being unable to afford sanitary products.

We believe that the education of these young people should not be compromised by a natural bodily function that happens every single month. We believe that all students regardless of gender should have the right to dignity during their periods, and the right to choose which period products are right for them. Considering that the average period lasts for 5-7 days every month, a young person who skips school due to their period will be missing in the region of 60 days of education every year. Learning time that is their right. 

All proceeds from this page will go towards purchasing various different sanitary items, with the hope that no young person will have to miss school due to embarrassment or shame about their periods. Our group has members based nationwide who are able to distribute these items all over the country, to ensure that we cover the maximum areas possible. 

Please help us give these young people the dignity, security, and confidence they deserve during a time so many feel incredibly vulnerable, and help keep them in school so they can achieve their full potentials.
