Tanzanian Education Fund

Last month I had the incredible opportunity to visit Tanzania with a small group from my school. We were given the privilege of spending time with children with HIV at an orphanage called St Lucia in Arusha. Despite the lack of verbal communication, I was so struck by the love and joy of these children who have so little. They were so willing to love and be loved that I experienced an openness of the human heart that is very difficult to articulate but I was incredibly struck by.
Tanzania is one of the most poor countries in the world. Only 20% of the population has electriclty, water is extremely difficult to get and many sleep on dirt floors with nothing but straw for a roof.
A life changing experience for many of these Tanzanian children would be to get an education. For only $80 a child can go to school for 7 years. Children in Tanzania must have a uniform and back pack in order to attend school. Many desperately want to educate their children but simply cannot afford it. My goal is raise as much money as I can to send these beautiful children to school in hopes to better their future.

Please consider donating whatever you can to help make a difference in the children lives. I hope this video captures the spirit of these children—I will never forget how simple joy can be, the smiles of the children and the love of Africa I now have.
