Educate a Girl Campaign

My name is Abul Manyuon Mayen, am south Sudanese by nationality, currently residing in Canberra ACT, Australia.

I am coming to you today on this social media for one reason only and that is “Girl Education”.  I believe that when we help our girls to overcome the critical transition from primary school to secondary school we somehow open doors for their future.

I am one of the Volunteers of Twic East Girls Scholarship Program (TEGSP). prescisely we take less fortune girls with good grades from Kakuma refugee and award them with a full 4 years high school scholarship.

Some one may ask, why does this matters to you, you got your 2 degrees ? The reality is I was one of them not so long ago, I have set in their classes, I have had my shared of domestic duties that rob you with all the time you required to attend to your books.

I have done the exams myself that they will be doing soon. Few years ago I was sitting in those dusty classroom pondering whether I was going to transition well to secondary school then out of blue I was awarded with JRS scholarship.  JRS was that gift that came from someone that wasnt related to me , it was a group of people who cares. They didn’t just give me hope they gave me a brand new sense of purpose this is the power of small help like TEGSP, the power to light undefined path.

This year we have already gathered the data for 2018 candidates and we are willing to take another sets of girls for 2018 intakes however we need your help to be able to achieve this.

This brings me to the prime reason as to why am here today, I need my friends and families from Australia, Canada, America, Kenya, south Sudan, Malaysia, china and all other countries to close their eyes and dig deep into their pockets to sponsor and help me raise &4000AUD.

In the 21th century  while the rest of the world have progressed in term of education, our girls are still falling behind into a crack of illiteracy in all ways and you my friends have a chance to change this. Someone once said that from small things big things grow.

So am asking would you be a champion of girls education this month?

Do you believe that our sisters and daughters deserve to be given a chance, to explore their God given potentials?

I believe that giving has a glory that last a life time, so would you help put 1 girl back in class with TEGSP in 2018?
