At EDs Veterans centre we are here to help all of our veterans and their families with any support that they need. We have created this centre so that our veterans and their families can come to a place were they feel safe and warm. We are located in the centre of Wigan so it is easy for them to locate and come along.
At EDs we have a number of volunteers that have the knowledge training to help our veterans with whatever their problem may be, it can be support with benifits, we have a qualified substance misuse worker, there is a councellor who comes in once a week to speak to any of our veterans that wish to see her.
We are working with a number of other support agencies so we can sign post our veterans to the correct help and support. We have a TV and games room so that vetetrans or families can use anytime, we have a training room that is used for education/training.
EDs Veterans centre is a drop in centre open 5 days a week so veterans can just call in for a brew and a chat anytime they like. We have a weekly breakfast club on Wednsday mornings for tea and crumpets.
We need to raise money so that we can continue to keep EDs Veterans centre open and to be able to keep on helping all our veterans and their families.
We are currently awaiting our charity number at the moment. We need the help of donations from people as soon as possible to support our veterans and families from now on.
