A beautiful, scruffy terrier that we named Eddie had a terrible accident today. He is in ICU. Still unconscious.
He was hit by a train. His back femur is broken. He suffered head trauma and a torn trachea. The rest of his body appears to be unharmed.
Eddie has been transported to the Ft. Pierce Emergency Clinic to be placed under 24-hour care with oxygen, and pain medication until time determines his destiny.
Eddie is a stray, lost and confused and while we do not know how he ended up like this we do know if he is not ready to give up HALO will not give up on him!
Thank you so much for the outpouring of love and prayers. GIANT special thank you to the Walmart staff for taking action, Sebastian police department for calling us, and Dr. Frankenburger and all his veterinarians who have kept him going.
HALO believes in No Kill Rescue. Every life has value and it’s not our right to destroy it. We will keep fighting for Eddie’s life and have been told we are looking anywhere from $4-10,000.
We are taking it day by day for now and beg for your help towards his veterinary bills.
