A Total Eclipse Wedding!

Donation protected
Thanks to the eclipse I have the opportunity to marry my fiance under the stars in the middle of the day.   This is our story.

8 short years ago my fiance picked me up from the bottom.  Without even knowing me we started talking and there I was without a job thanks to the poor economy and some extraordinary circumstances, living with extended family in a town that I had to move to to avoid living on the streets...just me and my son.  He and I had what we could carry in our busted vehicle.

She and I struck up conversation and I soon found that she has an amazing heart of gold and a trust level like no other and that her level of truthfullness was unmatched.   Though we started with just talk at first we came to really like one another and there I was there with practically nothing to offer while she was working a full time job. saving money and getting along great.. yet...She listened to my hardluck story and had so much empathy for me.  She truly understood my plight and was willing to accept something more to come of our relationship based only off what she learned of me in those few months of talking and the promises I made to her about what job I would get and how things will get better if there was just opportunity.  Thankfully I have been able to keep my promises and keep her trust.

She had compassion for me...faith in me... and we started a romantic relationship that resulted in her moving me out of that town and ultimately into a place together and with my son, there were three.  She rescued me!

A new location wasn't an immediate start for a new job or a reliable car.  These things do take time.  She did not lose faith or hope and for a few months she provided for all three of us when one day a break did come along...I became employed again.

That was just over seven years ago and we've built a modest life together.  I've kept the same job and even advanced within the company, a non-profit that helps children.  We don't live like royalty but we pay our bills and we get to eat out once in a while as well.  We've replaced my busted-up vehicle and have furnished a house with the necessities and a few niceties.  Her faith in me was not ill-put.

Three and one-half years ago I took tax return monies and purchased a ring for her.  A pear shaped diamond on a band.  On Valentine's Day I bought a hand-made book and a fancy pen then wrote a story inside that sent her on a quest.  She's really into RPG style things so it was only fitting that I do it that way.  She traced down pieces of the puzzle from clues in the book until she had formed "Will you marry me?" from letters she found from across town and in our backyard and even hand delivered by a waitress while we took a break for lunch.  Once she had the letters all figured out I was ecstatic when she said, "Yes."

We had never really set a date to be married for various reasons: none of which was a lack of love for each other.  We've always said we love and trust each other and we were in no rush to tie the knot.

Enter The Eclipse 2017.

We had planned a short trip to South Carolina from Pennsylvania to witness a short two minute total eclipse on August 21st of this year.  We're both kind of nerdy so we were excited for it even if nothing else came of it... but someone suggested that it would be awesom to say the "I DO's" just as the eclipse comes into full position.   We agreed!

It will 2:30ish in the afternoon and the sky will go dark, the sun will disappear and the stars will shine.   This is what a full eclipse does!  Unfortunately this came about very late and now we are planning a wedding with just 3 weeks until the day as of this writing.  As expressed before we had no date previously so we had set aside no special funds or something to help us along with the idea.  We do have some savings but, as I've come to find out, weddings are expensive!

While we will have the wedding with or without support I am creating this request because I would love to make this day even more special for her; to give to her a day that makes all her faith, trust and hope a huge payoff and to let her know that these short 8 years were just the beginning of the rest of our lives.

I will use any funds to pay for wedding expenses.  There are hotels, photographers, flowers, hair dressers, decorations, locations, an officiant, travel expenses, a reception and so many other itemized things that I've lost count.  Each item, of course, comes with an expense... even an inexpensive wedding photographer isn't inexpensive at all for someone on a budget.

While we will do some of those things... we've had to put ourself on a tight budget cutting back to the bare necessities so that we can get married under the stars in the middle of the day.

She's even got "stars" in her eyes now that this will be so much more than just a wedding... she says "this is a once in a lifetime thing, we have to do it no matter what..." so I want to make it not only happen but make it happen more like she has always imagined her wedding would be.  I hope you will help me do that for her.

Thank you for your time and we will be forever grateful for your support.  I've even included some reward levels to share our special day with you.
