Ricardo Weir was a loving and caring person who loved to make everyone around him laugh, despite the fact that he was very ill. His congestive heart failure and the complications that resulted from it took him from this world on November 27, 2016. He passed away peacefully in the company of family and friends.
We are heartbroken and still struggle to accept that he's been taken from us.
The outpouring of messages on his memorial group page on Facebook ("Remembering Ricardo") shows us that he touched many people's lives. He was a beloved teacher, a celebrated musician, a wise colleague, a caring father and a loving husband.
His health struggles over the course of several years resulted in many hospital stays and accumulated large debts. His mother was unable to be here with him due to the worsening economic situation in his native Venezuela. Please help us bring Ricardo's mother and sister from Margarita, Venezuela, to Dallas, Texas
for his memorial service in January. Your donation will go directly to covering their travel costs. His daughters plan to use any remainder to go towards attempting to cover his extensive medical debts.
