Earlybird Iditarod Entry for Blair!

Blair has spent the past three years raising and training her team of sled dogs and, in doing so, has qualified to compete in the 2019 Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race. Team BraverMountain is excited to get to Nome, but first we need to get to Anchorage.

If we're able to submit our race application on June 30th, as soon as entries open, the team will be in the first group for the drawing of bib numbers. This detail may not seem super important, but starting position can have a big impact on our race. Race teams who start early start on a relatively fresh, well-groomed trail (depending on weather conditions, of course) and they aren't as crowded behind a traffic jam of teams and snow machines early on. We want to enter and begin preparing for Iditarod as soon as possible.

UPDATE: Y'all helped us meet our initial goal for the signup fee in four hours!!! We are so moved by your generosity and giddy with excitement that we are another big step closer to making this dream happen. We've added a STRETCH GOAL of $7500, which will allow Blair to travel to signup day in person and scout out / put a deposit on a rental space where we can live and train the dogs from January 2019 until the race start in March. (OMG. Anything beyond that will go toward dog food, vet care, transportation, equipment repairs, and other dog team expenses!)
