Fight The Blight's Generator Was Stolen!

Friday night, October 10, the van that holds the support equipment for Spaced Invaders was broken into and the expensive generator that hid within was stolen.   This page seeks to raise money to replace the generator that was lost—about $2000.  We have a stretch goal of $4000 so that a (much) quieter Honda 7000 can be purchased

Spaced Invaders is the game behind FightTheBlight.org , Giacomo's brain child to unite people with forgotten and blighted places.  He does so by projecting a giant version of the classic Space Invaders themed video game on the walls of the space around him.

Giacomo received a People's Liberty Grant for the project and has invested, along with his girlfriend, a tremendous amount of time and money—it would be a shame for it to end due to the theft of this generator.

The below excerpt from their mission sums up the goal pretty effectively:

"... We, as citizens, are a reflection of our environment. Happiness brings joy and laughter, while blight brings decay and depression. We can stop all of this. It’s time to be the hero you know that you can be."

Spaced Invaders brings life back to tired, worn-out spaces and happiness back into our lives. Now is the time to step up, to be a hero and help get Spaced Invaders back up and running.

To date, Spaced Invaders has refocused attention on 4 buildings since starting in the late summer with their next location set to be the old Bavarian Brewery in Covington- more information here.

Y'all are amazing - $1400 in a day and a half. This has been shared 76 times, which is truly incredible, but please - KEEP IT UP! Direct messages work the best, but so do blanket tweets and FB shares.

We are $600 away from our goal, and already a third of the way to our stretch goal. You put a big smile on my face, and on the faces of all those involved in Fight The Blight. Thank you.

Thanks to John Funcheon, my partner in crime with the Queen City Underground tour who helped me raise these funds through tips from our patrons. We both love OTR, Giac, and this amazing project. Hope to get more funds in the future for ya'll.
