Ty Moore Memorial Scholarship

My brother Ty left us too soon. He passed away Dec 9, 2014 at the age of 43. Ty changed the lives of so many around him. As a high school wrestler at North Allegheny in Wexford, PA he won 4 individual state championships and led 4 team titles from 1987-1990. He achieved this monumental feat while only suffering 1 loss. An achievement that only a few have equaled.
He later turned his attention to coaching where his direction led young men to state titles, national titles, all-american accolades and even The Olympic Games.
He truly wanted to see the best that each athlete had in them. He cared and he coached, he gave and did not ask to receive.
In order to preserve his memory and his legacy, we have established a scholarship for North Allegheny wrestlers who embody the attributes that Ty exhibited during his athletic and coaching career.
My brother gave to many and asked of none. I'm now asking those who knew him to support this effort so that we can continue giving to the wrestling community in his name and in his spirit. This fund will be administered by our sister Tina Gwinn (CPA) of Dallas, TX and will be gifted thru the Gwinn Foundation, a 501(c)3, as the Ty Moore Scholarship.
