This campaign is hosted by Taylor Phillips, Sara's Big Sister within the ZTA fraternity. I reside in Denton, TX where Sara went to ol, and where the shooting occurred. I remain in contact with Clay and Gloria, Sara's parents. A $10,000 check has already been handed in person to the parents. Funds surpassing that will be transferred to Gloria's PayPal account as they are received, as donations still continue to arrive daily. Any questions can be referred to me via email at firstname.lastname@example.org
Cara, the money is definitely all going to the family. But as the parents didn't start the fundraisers, a few of us made them at the same time and didn't know the other was doing them. It's a confusing time for all of us, but I assure that all accounts are legitimate.
I found this story extremely touching, though I don't know her or any of her family. I followed a link, and I count 3 different fundraisers for Sara Mutschlechner on Gofundme alone. I would think if the money is really going to her family, they would have coordinated the efforts. Caveat Emptor.
This story hits me on a very personal level. My son was a designated driver coming from a Halloween party 10/26/14. He was an innocent bystander shot in a act of road rage. I started an organization RARR (ride against road rage). We are in Georgia taking donations for the parents of this beautiful young lady. Please check out RARR on facebook or www.rarrusa.org. Road rage is such a senseless act of violence.
