Miss Black and Gold Pageant

Hello! My name is Tiandra Forrester and I am a freshman at the University of Oklahoma. I am currently a contestant in the 2017-2018 Miss Black and Gold Pageant. Miss Black and Gold is a scholarship based pageant that promotes leadership and service among young women. Each contestant is required to create a platform that specifically targets an issue that the contestant is passionate about. For my platform, Building Bridges Across Cultures, I hope to create a mentorship program that provides the necessary tools for an easy transition as well as financial and emotional support for first generation and immigrant students. I hold my platform close to heart as I too am an immigrant, and have encountered many barriers in my pursuit for success. Fortunately, thanks to my mentors I have conquered those challenges and have surpassed the expectations of many.

I hope to one day create such a system of support for other immigrant students. In order to do so, and to be successful in this pageant, I am in need of your assistance. All donations are welcomed! Thank you in advance!
