Napa and Sonoma Fire Relief

A number of wildfires broke out in Napa and Sonoma County in the early hours of October 9th. Like many other people in the Bay Area, my family woke up to the frightening smell of smoke and hazy skies. Over 20,000 people have already evacuated, 122,000 acres have been burned, there are tens of confirmed deaths, and hundreds are still missing as the damage continues. It is absolutely devastating. 

I originally signed up for the SoFi Golden Gate Half Marathon without a cause, but I am fundraising for those affected by the fires. I will be running in their honor on November 5th. I plan to write the name of everyone who donates on my shirt. 

The money raised will be allocated to the following organizations:
- Sonoma Valley Fire and Rescue Authority 
- Napa County Fire Department
- Napa Valley Community Disaster Relief Fund
- Other (legitimate/certified) relief funds being set up for families impacted by the fire

I will be withdrawing the money on Friday, November 3rd, and will distribute the funds the following day. I will ABSOLUTELY post receipts/pictures of the donations and, of course, a photo of me post-race on November 5th.
