My name is Emmett Ward IV and I started this page because I'm on the path to become the Number 1 Tennis Player in the world. And I need HELP!
I started playing tennis at 14, which is very late in tennis years to start tennis and become a professional. But I had no idea the plan God had for my life. When I was 16, God woke me up at 3 am and laid out the path for my life. That started it all, I ran in my mother’s room and woke her up. I just had tell her everything. The plan was to move from Georgia to Florida and pursue tennis wholeheartedly. My mother was very skeptical because of finances and other things, but she talked to God, we believed in him and moved. Then the unexpected happened! At the end of 2011 I got in a car accident and injured my knee (osteochondritis dissecans). It kept me out of tennis for a year. You’re usually supposed to get surgery for it but GOD, allowed me to grow out of it which is very rare. Needless to say it taught me so much and it really strengthened my faith. I’m glad I went through it. This trial taught me that a setback is nothing more then a set up for a come back if you just Believe!
Fast forward to today, I'm a 19 year old Professional Tennis Player and I love it more than anything in the world. This is a very crucial point in my career. It is time for me branch out and start traveling and winning matches and moving up the rankings. The problem is I don’t have the financial support to do so. Tennis is unlike Football, Basketball, typical popular American sports. In tennis you have to pay for your own coach, fitness trainer, rackets, string, tennis shoes, transportation, accommodations, etc to travel and compete in tournaments. All financial cost are your responsibilty as the player. Therefore, it can get really expensive for you to travel to all these states and even other countries to play. This is required in order to succeed. Financial support often usually deter young people from reaching or pursuing their dreams.
If I can raise at least 100k that would allow me to pay for a full time coach and fitness trainer and travel to more tournaments. This will allow me to pursue my God given dream and journey to my destiny. This is my destiny! I get up every day working towards it in the gym, on the court, on the track. I AM GIVING, AND I WILL CONTINUE TO GIVE 200% TO MAKE MY DREAMS COME TRUE. I am leaving no stone unturned and I WANT IT AS BAD AS I WANT TO BREATH! I don’t want to look back on my life and be a “What If guy” So here I am reaching out on faith and going for it.
