Hi Everyone,
Earlier this month, Jj had a freak accident while visiting his family. Unfortunately after the accident, his spinal cord has been damaged from c2-c7, leaving him paralyzed from the shoulders down, and he’s facing what the doctors are saying to be a lifetime of 24-hour care.
He’s currently in the neuro ICU at Westchester Medical Center, recovering from multiple surgeries to immediately tend to injuries from the accident. There is a long road ahead as Jj overcomes unexpected complications and illnesses, before moving to a rehabilitation center.
If you know Jj, you most likely know and love him for his huge heart, sense of humor, endearing presence and caring nature. His family are real life angels and superheroes, and have been there helping him every single step of the way.
As you can imagine with multiple surgeries, overnight care in the hospital in the coming days and weeks, moving to 24-care facilities for rehabilitation, and eventually new living space/conditions at home, the costs of medical care are adding up.
Everyone who has met Jj, knows you can count on him for a laugh and to be your personal hype man. Now Jj needs our support and positive spirits. We’re asking for your help to take the financial burden of medical bills off of their family, so they can focus on helping Jj and being there for eachother during this extremely difficult time.
Despite the extremely unfortunate circumstances, Jj remains in positive spirits. He’s alert and day by day is moving toward the next steps of recovery.
