Help Get DXCEGAME To Coachella

DXCEGAME is a brand new hip-hop music and culture blog, managed by myself and featuring contributions from students of color and my fellow blog staff. The goal of the blog is to create a space for the critical analysis and discussion of hip-hop culture and American popular culture, curated by and for young people of color, the demographic at the forefront of the cutting edge that is too often overlooked.
This year, the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival features many of hip-hop's biggest acts, including established superstars such as Kendrick Lamar and Future, up and coming acts like Nav, and international artists like the legendary grime artist Skepta. With your help, we can send a DXCEGAME report team to Coachella and document the various performers with the intent of producing three longer critical essays (1.5k-2k words) and various news features and photo sets documenting culture, fashion, and how young people feel about the festival and state of American pop culture.
With our $700 objective, we can get another ticket for weekend 2 of the festival (April 21-23), a shuttle pass, camping pass, and a year of premium hosting on Wordpress, the platform we use to run DXCEGAME. That premium hosting status allows us to brand the blog the way we wish and monetize it with advertising revenue.
As college studenst from modest backgrounds, we would not be able to attend the festival without help from compassionate patrons such as yourself. The wondeful institution we attend, Pomona College, has granted us $195 towards our goal via its Co-Curricular Funding program, and these funds will be available to us as a reimbursment.
By attending the festival, we hope to make the content and experience accessible to people like us; avid participants in the culture that are financially barred access from events like this, despite the fact that it is regular fans like us that keeps music culture alive and evolving. Your support would mean everything to us and directly contribute to the development of a vision that has been growing for years.
