Logan's Birthday Fundraiser!

Donation protected
Last school year our local fire department opened their doors to Logan and he became their first student intern with special needs. We are hoping this will inspire other departments to do the same, and other kids will get this amazing opportunity in their own communities.

I can't even begin to explain what it feels like to have a child with hopes and dreams that may never be possible in his life. The older Logan has gotten, the harder this has become. His love for the police and fire departments in our town started young, like lots of kids. His eyes lit up at the sound of a siren, or flashing lights. He would take our garden hose and pretend he was a fire fighter, brave and proud. It broke my heart to think this may be something he will never have.

When the chance to intern came up, of course I was thrilled, but also emotional and so, so grateful.  No matter what Logan's future career path is, he will have his experience of his internship forever.

It has become our tradition to do something meaningful for Logan's birthday in October. Last year we donated $5,300.00 to our police department's K9 unit. This year, in lieu of gifts, we ask that you instead consider contributing to our donation to our fire department. We will be personally delivering a check and Slombie by November 1st.
