Hello my name is Nikki and I am very excited to be representing the Gloucester County Hero Scholarship Fund in the 2017 Greater Woodbury Chamber of Commerce Dancing With The Stars event! This is a fundraising competition where the dancer that raises the most money for their charity wins. All money must be submitted by September 24,2017.
My goal is to raise awareness, understanding and funds for GCHSF. At GCHSF our focus is on: 1)helping the families of first responders (police,fire, EMS) by providing immediate financial assistance within the first 48 hours after a documented line of duty death or severe injury; 2) to provide financial assistance of $5,000 a year for four years to children of first responders who were killed or severely injured in the line of duty; & 3) provide the opportunity for college scholarships ($500 a year) for the children of local first responders.
The GCHSF is represented by a twenty-one member volunteer Board of Trustees. The panel is made up of both emergency and non-emergency personnel, including five from fire service, five from law enforcement, five from EMS,and six civilians. The GCHSF is represented by legal counsel, who is active in the day to day operations of the Fund and sits on the Board of Trustees. I have been a part of GCHSF for the past ten years and I am a trustee.
All funds raised will go to helping local first responders and their families. In the next 5-10 years we have at least 5 children of first responders (who were killed or severely injured in the line of duty) who will be continuing their education after high school. Our goal is to offer each child financial assistance of $5,000 a year for four years.
These children of first responders need your donations so that they can follow their dreams.
Please make a donation of at least $10 to help fund their future. Please submit all donations by September 24, 2017.
