Help Buy Science Textbooks for Jose
I met Jose Bien-Aime in the Dominican Republic. Both of us were volunteering with Project Esperanza, an organization that primarily serves the Haitian population in Puerta Plata. Jose is attending medical school in Haiti, but currently has very limited access to textbooks. Please help contribute (every dollar helps!). Donated money will exclusively go towards the following French language textbooks:
Biochimie (Biochemistry)
Chimie organique (Organic chemistry)
Chimie générale (General chemistry)
Biologie cellulaire et moléculaire (Cell and molecular biology)
Biologie (General biology)
Jose is from a village near Jacsonville, Haiti. He's fought against many difficult educational and cultural barriers to achieve this accomplishment, but his combined costs for living expenses, tuition, and medical supplies make purchasing textbooks very difficult.
To say that Jose is "studious" would be an understatement. During the week I was with him, Jose spent nearly every free hour studying (he literally reads the dictionary). Jose is extremely dedicated to learning, and has incredible discipline when it comes to saying "No" to anything that would interfere with his goals. I have no doubt that he'd read each one of these books cover-to-cover--multiple times.
When Jose finishes school, he will use his heart for service to provide sustainable medical care to many people in Haiti. Please help donate so that he can become the best doctor he can be.
