Dustin and Sami

On June 12th 2019 Sami and Dustin became the proud parents of Lincoln Rodney Corbitt. Lincoln was delivered by emergency C-section a bit early because Sami was having blood pressure issues and the doctors felt that delivering Lincoln early would be best for Sami and Lincoln. After a few days home from the hospital Sami started to feel weak and lethargic so she went back to her doctor. Sami had to have an emergency D&C and she's currently in the ICU with possible TTP, A life-threatening disease involving embolism and thrombosis (plugging) of the small blood vessels in the brain as well affecting other organs. She has been placed on steroids, transfusion, and dialysis in addition to getting plasma exchanges. The cost of the plasma exchange alone can exceed $100,000.00. Sami is currently in critical condition with very minor changes in her blood work.  The hospital stay and treatments may have to go on for some time and even with full recovery the chance of a relapse can not be ruled out. The funds will be used to help offset their medical expenses and short term living expenses. Even though both work and have insurance the bills will surely be extremely high in the near term as well as long term. Both Dustin and Sami are currently using QMLA which gives them time off from their jobs but without pay.
