Dublin School Museum Renovations

Dublin School Museum Renovations
Pleasant Prairie Historical Society

This project is to restore then 1927 Dublin School for the Pleasant Prairie Historical Society Museum. The building will feature an accessible local history museum on the upper level and temporary display areas with a community gathering space, kitchen, restrooms and storage in the lower levels. The Society has the desire to preserve the character and renovate the old school back to when it was originally constructed in 1927.

While Pleasant Prairie is a very vibrant and growing community, the residents collectively acknowledged the importance of preserving the school and educating others about the people and ways of life that brought our community to the present day. The Society's mission is to share Pleasant Prairie’s stories and the historical significance of the Dublin School building with future generations.

The building renovations will cost approximately $400,000 and includes adding an accessible elevator lift; handicapped accessible bathroom; kitchen facilities; updating the plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems; installing a fire suppression system; restoring the front entrance and creating museum displays. We have about $165,000 set aside for renovations currently, but we still need to raise  $235,000 to reach our goal and complete the museum.
