Duarte Children Living Expenses

Please help us meet our day to day needs. Our parents were taken from us by Immigration officials. We are now 4 children on our own. As we are all fulltime students, we do not have the resources to pay our bills. As we work to get our parents back with us, we need your help to pay our rent, utilities, court and trial fees. Our 19 year old brother who is a college student is now taking care of his 3 younger brothers and sisters. Please read our 17 year old brother Luis's statement and see our video below.
*******UPDATE TO OUR STORY******
We would like to thank everyone for this incredible response. We were not expecting anything like this. We wanted to update everyone and let them know what we are planning on doing with all of this money that is coming in. We are behind in most of our living expenses, rent, sdge, water, etc. So we will be paying everything current. We are 4 children who are all Students, we will also use some of this money for immediate school expenses as well. As we talked about in our original posting, we will be using money for everyday living expenses such as food, and whatever my brothers and sisters need. With whatever extra money there is, we would like to put some of the money aside for all 4 of us in college savings accounts. We've been so moved by this experience, that we are forever indebted and will be working to also create justice for other people in our situation. We would like to assure everyone, that as I am only 19 years old, and not used to this quantity of money, that we have several people who will be helping us administer this money. Our attorneys, our pastor, our parents and one of my uncles who is an attorney in Mexico. Again, we cannot believe this response and are so grateful to everyone who has reached out to help our family. God Bless everyone.

"Currently the people who put their lives on the line, who sacrifice their every living moment for our wellbeing- our parents- were taken from us by Immigration. It was not even 8 A.M. My 12-year-old twin sisters who were eating breakfast before school bore witness to this great injustice which paradoxically is completely legal. Not even teenagers and they had to watch their parents taken, removed, only because of where they were born- as if that changes the content of their character. My parents are not deserving this great injustice; we four children who were virtually orphaned do not deserve to have this situation thrust upon us. Nobody deserves to have this happen to them. We cannot normalize cruelty. We four kids are alone. We four kids will not remain alone. Please don’t leave us alone. Any help from the community is a blessing." Luis Duarte, 17 years old.
