DRW Theatre Arts Program

The DRW Fine Arts Program was founded in 2013. Since 2013, the DRW Fine Arts program has performed 12 shows (winter/spring/small scale reviews). Over the years, the students of the Theatre program have always run their own shows acting as producers and department heads- leading their team of peers in building set, making costumes, budgeting and finding props, running all lights and sound, and creating all scheduling and business aspects of the pre-production practice. Many outsiders have commented that the DRW Theatre program is one of the best in Chicago- as the students run the entire process of production. 

This year, we are very low on funds. And as of right now, it looks as though we will only be able to put on a winter show. In order to continue forward in creating art in North Lawndale (a community that lacks The Arts- this is our only performance outlet), we are asking to help us meet our goal so we can put on our spring musical. Your contribution will help us greatly and help aid the passions of young people who are looking to major in Theatre Arts in college. (The DRW Theatre program presently has several alumni that are majoring or minoring in Theatre in college!) 

In closing, the Theater program at DRW College Prep is asking for collaboration from anyone who wants to help us in any way possible. Your help will give us an opportunity to put on our shows, use our creative imagination, and tell our personal stories about life so we can give this experience to future generations.
