Drifts medical costs

$404 of $500 goal

Raised by 15 people in 11 months
Hello everyone. Baby Drift was admitted and kept overnight at the emergency vet for observation. Sadly the costs are high.
it all started when I applied an antibacterial salve to her mothers skin. Was told it’s safe but immediately upon play biting her mother she instantly started spitting and drooling. I rinsed her mouth and thought she was ok but again another episode.
I rushed her to the e vet who applied an anti nausea shot and sent home antibiotics to be safe. We were worried about aspirated pneumonia. After returning home it was obvious she was still struggling So I brought her back. They did an X-ray to rule out pneumonia. Luckily none was seen and all looked fine. But keeping her overnight starts at $500 after already spending over $300 earlier. Of course I said yes to staying overnight but had to refuse the blood work as it was yet another $200 I couldn’t afford. Her bill will be probably $1500 or more but all I ask is help with $500 of it. Every little bit counts.

We had a little scare this morning where she had an episode and sneezed out a large amount of mucus! She’s spent most the morning since sleeping in my arms. I’ll need to take her to the regular vet tomorrow if possible and have x rays redone and checked but it’s looking like she did get pneumonia. The e vet called me back and said unless she has another episode to just keep her warm and keep an eye on her. Please keep sharing! We are almost to our goal which would greatly help with these unexpected bills. Thank you!

Drift is still a bit congested sounding so I hope that passes. I worry about aspirated pneumonia as she aspirated multiple times. This fall weather and rain isn’t helping.
But thankfully she’s perky and active and eating well. I’m so blessed that she’s back to herself. I didn’t realize you could possible love someone or animal so much.

She still raspy sounding but as you can see she’s happy and relaxed. I just pray she doesn’t develop pneumonia! Fingers crossed though so far so good!

She’s doing even better this morning! She’s pretty much back to normal only thing is still I can hear the fluid in her lungs but the antibiotics should hopefully help with that so it doesn’t become pneumonia.
We are so thankful for all our friends that donated or just supported me while I went through this. My dogs are my life and when they are sick or hurting so am I.
