Building Dream Factory Media Art Center In Auburn/Gresham

In 2015, we lost over 500 to homicides...
Our youth are waiting for solutions to pull them away from this street violence. We must build better communities by bringing to youth better outlets for which to build upon. And we know technology is the fastest way to bring engagement and resources NOW. Dream Factory Media Art Center will be a state-of-the-art facility for creation, developing and training youth in many areas of media. But the unique piece to our plan is EXPOSURE. All content created by participants will be streamed as LIVE PPV (Pay-Per-View), and then marketed to the massive mobile platform, which makes up over 1 trillion devices worldwide. We will not be just another band-aid program to waste time, but will be a outlet to give youth the tools they need to change their future. Our timeline is Summer 2017 and we need YOU… "If We Build It, They Will LIVE!”

Develope A Better Community...
Engaging Chicago's youth today takes more then just sticking a basketball in their hand. And for most, It take giving then a reason to get up to meet the day, after a night of violence in their neighborhood.

We can not simple tell them to "be good", without putting in front of them opportunities and means of changing their condition and a direct path away from what the streets offer them, which is more violence.

Dream Factory Media Art Center
is a vision developed under Chicago Village Project. We are a local youth advocate organization founded by me, John Kennedy and my wife Sherri. My family has been a resident of the Auburn/Gresham community for the past 48 years.

Dream Factory Media Art Center will be the first in a network of faculities we would like to build throughout Chicago for the cultivation of young entrepreneurship using cutting edge streaming technology, the internet and the mobile platform.

Dream Factory Media Art Center will be a 12,500 sq. ft. multi-purpose facility for the development of media content and training for youth & young adults.

Training will be concentrated in several major areas, these are some of them:

Entertainment (Music & Concerts, Film & Video, Dance, Theater)
Gaming (3D Game Development, Team Competition)
Sports (Wrestling, Boxing, Basketball, Baseball, Football, Soccer, Skateboarding and BMX Bike Racing
Fashion (Modeling, Design, Runway Shows)
Publishing (eBooks, Magazines, Newspapers)

Our mission is to teach participants how to create and own their content and build a financial base by using today’s technologies to widen the exposure of their products and services to the world.

Content and events will be streamed and distributed via the Internet and the mobile platform to smartphones, tablets, iPhones and Android devices for the sole purpose of profit sharing with participants.

Dream Factory Media Art Center training will be available all year round, with a number of classes specifically for building skill set for Chicago's growing film industry. An industry that has  hosted several block buster films like “Transformer” and film series Chicago Fire, Chicago PD, the new Fox series Empire and now Spike Lee's new film "ChiRaq", (the story about Chicago’s violent streets) that is under developement. Chicago is also home to the second largest film studio in American, called CineStudio.

With Chicago coined as the murder capital of the world. It is our wish that the opportunities created by the vision of Dream Factory Media Art Center will turn the tide of violence in our streets today to better.

Some people have been telling me for so time now, that taking on a mission this big would be impossible. That raising this amount of funding could not be done, because people don't care enough for inner-city programs like this.

I have to say, I even questioned the afford, myself. Almost to the point of giving up this year. When your friends and family abandon you because they don't see the impact it will make or your vision to help, it makes you wonder, is it worth it.

But when I turn on the television or read the headlines, it remains me of the reason I started it all. And when I talk to young men or women about the project, their faces light-up every time.

It's been over 2 years now and I think I have been going to the wrong source to fund this impossible vision. So I'm reigniting my vision and mission with the guidance of my Lord and Savior to direct my path to the right funding sources. This project may be big, but it is not BIGGER than my God.

I can not give up on the young people who desperately want and need this facility, even when some may think differently. Since this project was uploaded to GoFundMe on Dec 2015, there have been 1175 people killed in Chicago alone, most were young black men under 25.

Please support the building of Dream Factory Media Art Center.
God is lighting a way for a new start

Dream Factory Media Art Center is not just another program to occupy the time of youth and young adults. It's a plan to engage, train and satisfy the financial needs that have to be independent and is a way to keep them from the "Hustle" of violent street. I give one example using the gaming industry, why we need Dream Factory NOW!
I explain why Dream Factory is needed.
