Dream Wedding for Cancer Patient

Donation protected
In December 2017, four months before Natalie's wedding and four weeks before her 31st birthday she was diagnosed with colon cancer. Natalie and Conrad decided to go ahead with a small civil ceremony but pushed back the big celebration until July 2019.

Natalie spent her 32nd birthday in intensive care living attached to a colonoscopy bag. Over the next three months she went through chemo and waited for her immune system to strengthen so that she could have the bag taken out, but once she was strong enough to have it surgically removed they discovered a septic abscess. The pain medication she was prescribed at the time destroyed her immune system so she had no white blood cells to fight off the septic infection. Conrad was luckily a blood match and was able to give her white blood cell transfusions.

Over the next several months she worked on regaining her strength and putting back together the broken pieces of her life. Throughout this time she would often talk about her new July 2019 wedding date. She would say the wedding would be a celebration of being cancer free and starting a family with Conrad.

Unfortunately, in March 2019 when she went in for a routine check up she received horrible news yet again. They found that the cancer had metastasized in her liver. It had hit stage four. She went in four weeks later to have another major surgery. This time they removed 30% of her liver and her gallbladder. She is currently going through another grueling 3 months of chemo.

They have decided that they will not change the date of their wedding this time around. The wedding is the one thing at the moment Natalie is looking forward to, however talking about it always brings up the conversation of how much financial struggle cancer has put on them. Natalie had even returned to work part time during her chemo to help ease the strain.

Natalie and Conrad are not the kind of people that would ever ask for money, but they are kind and caring to everyone around them. The donations made here will be given to them to help fund their wedding. They had dreamt of having a videographer at their wedding but can not afford it. Their original planned honeymoon had to be canceled but they are still in a dispute with the company over whether or not they will get the 3000 euros back. They have yet to have planned another honeymoon. The remainder of the donations would be put towards hopefully planning a new honeymoon, wedding costs and cancer treatment bills.

Thank you for taking the time to read their story and for any donations you are able to make. It would mean the world to them to receive the help and support.
