My name is Shanna Wenzel, I am 29 with 3 children. Draven 6, Karliah 2, and Killian 11mo. We live in Grand Junction, CO.
On October 15th our 6yr old son got ahold of a lighter. I was upstairs in the bath and his dad came up to tell me something. He was up there for a total of about 3 mins. At about 830am we heard Draven screaming like we never have. As we ran down to him we saw the unthinkable... He was on fire! He was in the hospital for 3 days. We have to do dressing changes ever day and make sure the other 2 kids do not play to roughly with him. This has been and will be a long road to recovery. He got second and third degree burns on the entire right side of his back. They say about 1% is 3rd degree and he will have skin grafts tomorrow morning.
Because of all this, his dad and I have missed more work than we could afford. We are struggling now pretty bad to make ends meet due to this accident. All we ask is for enough to pay our rent that's due this week. We can figure out the rest. Our rent is $750 a month. Please like, share, comment so others will see as well. Any little bit helps.
