Drager Farms Barn Renovation

DRAGER FARMS, LLC  is committed to being a positive change in the farming world, growing food in a sustainable way that is chemical free and close to the land. We are the first farm in Pennsylvania to be dually "Certified Grassfed by AGW" and "Animal Welfare Approved" for our cattle raising practices.

The barn renovation project entails restoring and modernizing our 19th century barn along with the creation of a separate outdoor kitchen area. As a preserved farm, the restoration of this barn would benefit generations to come.

Our barn renovation project will give us a gathering space to share our GMO-free, antibiotic-free, and hormone-free livestock raising practices with others, so that change can continue to evolve in the farming world.  It will also give us the ability to offer farm-to-table dinners to the local community where we can showcase other farmers with similar sustainable growing practices.

Here is a small list of what needs to be done:
 • Restoration of the stone foundation
 • Lay cement flooring in the lower part of the barn
 • Replace doors, windows, & wood support beams where needed
 • Heat & Electrical Work
 • Re-floor large upstairs section of barn
 • Add code compliant bathrooms and a septic system
 • Addition of an ADA compliant entrance and parking area
 • Create an outdoor kitchen/dining area

We have already started work on the foundation and lower section of the barn. As funds are added, we can continue to work down this list.

Completing the barn would fulfill a dream to create a place for our community to gather and connect with one another through educational workshops, farm-to-table dinners, and other farm related activities. It would provide a place for children to come and connect with nature and learn about farming. It would also help us diversify our offerings here at the farm and potentially allow us to bring in enough funds to solely focus on our passion: farming.
