Dave Vermillion's Brain Surgery

About a year ago, Dave Vermillion, a loving husband and father of 4, started having mild headaches and periods of dizziness with lots of nausea. He and his wife Jeana did not think much of it because of some stress that they were enduring in their daily lives. As time went on, the headaches became much more severe and it started to become a disruption in his everyday life. He would get home from work so sick, not being able to eat, or really function at all. He would lay on the couch most nights trying to fight off the terrible headaches. The headaches would grow so severe causing him to vomit from the pain. This was roughly six months ago. At that time, they decided that this was not normal and dug deeper for some answers with a couple doctor visits. The doctor referred Dave to a neurologist to get checked out and get some MRIs done. Weeks had gone by during these doctor visits, and MRI testings, and in the meantime Dave's symptoms kept getting worse. Finally, Dave got a call 3 days after the MRI, to come in for the results...
The good news was, they finally had some answers. The more frightening news was that the doctor had some hard evidence as to why Dave was feeling this way. The MRI images determined that Dave has a tumor that is lying on his brain stem, next to the cerebellum. The tumor is large enough that it is blocking the cranial fluid from draining properly, and causing the two sacs on either side of the brain stem to enlarge (far more than usual), ultimately causing the massive amounts of pain that he is enduring. The doctor said it appears to be benign, but that he cannot say for sure until it is removed. Because of the severity of the location and size, the doctor explained that it had to be removed immediately, so Dave and Jeana started on a 48 hour search for a doctor to do the surgery. After many referrals, and talking to many people, they found a renowned neurosurgeon to do this very specialized surgery.
Due to the location of the tumor it will be a very long and slow surgery. He said he is confident that he will be able to remove the entire tumor as long as it is soft. But if not, Dave will have to go through radiation to kill the remains of it. The surgery is set for February 27th, with about a 4-6 week recovery time, with hopes that everything goes as planned.
At this time, all they are asking for is a lot of prayers. However, if you have the pleasure of knowing my brother-in-law or sister, and this was one of their family members or friends going through this same situation, you know they would be doing anything in their control to help! Therefore, we are reaching out to family, friends, and anyone looking to support an amazing family in need. Dave, husband and father of 4, and currently the only financial means for the family, will be out of work for weeks, if not months, and any support would be appreciated! Everyone can relate to a family going through a stressful time, but this experience is one that was unexpected, and life changing.
Aside from the daily stressers that every family goes through in life, they now have the added stress of medical bills, doctors visits, tests, and possible radition expenses, and therefore, requiring extra support from anyone who would love to help!
