2017 Holiday Homeless Initative

DEAR QUEENS has dedicated itself to serving and empowering homeless women as part of its holiday initiative. For the past two years (this year will be the third) I've partnered with Life Haven Shelter to bring holiday cheer to its residents. Life Haven is a temporary residential facility for homeless women and children.
Needless to say, during the holiday season volunteers tend to cater most to the children, forgetting the moms who bear the challenging feat of raising them. Since its inception, DEAR QUEENS has worked to remind these homeless women and mothers that they, too, are valuable and worthy of love during the holiday season.
This year, however, DEAR QUEENS is dedicated to creating a larger impact in their lives, by throwing a holiday party. The event will be child-free. The purpose is to give them the free time to enjoy themselves and interact with other women to create community, share love, and receive support.
Your donation will cover costs for: food, drinks & small gifts.

PAST YEARS:
2015, with the help of financial and in-kind contributions, the women were gifted individualized self-care kits (including: nail polishes, feminine hygiene products, gifts cards, and an inspirational note).
2016, with the support of two sponsors, the women were gifted an inspirational book, Showing Mary: How Women Can Share Prayers, Wisdom and the Blessings of God by Renita Weems. Showing Mary promotes unity, sisterhood, and love amongst women.
