Dougs Hardest Days

Someone very close to me has endured the same unfortunate event that left me with a new life 4 yrs ago; in the past few days. Doug was working hard for his family near Fernie BC when his semi truck went down an embankment. Doug is now in Vancouver ICU in very critical condition. With his family all in Alberta it took some time before his three children and wife could make it to his bedside. This family has only begun the fight it will take and I am going to do everything I can to help them. Doug has shattered his spine and has paralysis from the shoulders down as far as they can tell as of now. He has underwent a few surgeries and has more to go. It is so important for people to come together for this family, his wife and sons are staying in a nearby hotel to be close to him and I am sure need some help so they can focus on Doug. His daughter has flown out to see him and needs to be back at work soon but with a heavy heart she doesn't want to leave his side. I hope prayers and good people can assist her to go back to be with him very soon. Medical costs with him being in BC are unknown at this time but are foreseeably going to be extreme. As I know all too well the medical equipment and rehabilitation etc. costs are going to be difficult for anyone to endure, which is why I am reaching out for helping hands to lift some financial burden off of this family. I can't express the gratitude I have for all who have helped me and I know that this journey for Doug and his family has just begun, However they will also be grateful for any help that comes their way, they deserve it. I will post updates as I get them as well I have attached the link from the paper. Please send healing wishes and prayers for Doug and his family, strength in numbers and miracles can happen. I want to thank everyone ahead of time for donations as I want to keep his family as close to him as possible in Vancouver until they can stabilize him enough to hopefully airlift him to Calgary however this will be some time from now.
