I am writing this about one of the most dedicated and funny people I have ever known . Not only is he dedicated to his Wife and 3 Kids but also to Snap-on Tools. He started like the rest of us in a route and then was promoted to management. He spent a number of years as a full service Field manager then left for a couple of years before returning back as a Business Manager. His intentions were to return as a manager until a route opened up for there lied his true passion to work with people in a route. A short time later a route opened up and he became a Franchisee. After having a routine test done, he was diagnosed with stage four Colon Cancer. Having a wife and three kids this was not only devastating to him, but his family.

Having the expense of a Franchise, Mortgage, Medical Insurance at $55,000 per year, two kids in college and 1 in High School and a spouse that now spends full time taking him for operations, chemo, doctor visits etc. Miraculously he is still working in the route bi-weekly. It has been a long 4 ½ years and the expenses have not let up. He has had minimal success with assistants yet still services his customers to the best of his ability. Recently he fractured his back due to a tumor which is lodged in his spine. He underwent back surgery where they installed rods and screws to try to fix the fracture. He plans to return to the route as soon as he is able. What more can I say about this incredible, dedicated individual that is an inspiration to myself and others around him. I no longer have bad days, when I look at the pain and suffering this man and his family have gone through, nothing can compare.

He has never asked for help in any way, financial or physical. The fact that he continues to push on after the cancer had moved onto his lungs, spine and other areas is incredible. A number of doctors wrote him off three years ago, one gave him a 15% chance to make it 12 months. Yet he still gets in that truck every other week and runs the route. His off weeks he travels from New Jersey to Brooklyn for Chemo and Radiation treatments which make it physically impossible to work for the next couple of days.

At this point we are asking for the caring people in the Snap-On family to come together for a fellow Family member and donate whatever you can. Every dollar at this point will go a long way. As we enter the season of giving, please keep Doug Kabbash and his family in mind. Again, anything you can give is greatly appreciated. Thank you, God bless and Merry X-Mas.
