There are no words to begin to articulate in this message the raw emotions our family is feeling at this moment. Our beloved son, Douglas Wayne Bergman, suffered a massive heart attack and passed away at home on Friday, July 12th. Despite efforts by his wife, Hillary and the team of paramedics and doctors at San Antonio Regional Hospital they were unable to revive him. He was only 37 years old, husband, father to Ethan (14), Noah (12) and Hayden (5). Doug & Hillary just celebrated their one year wedding anniversary.
Doug was our gentle giant; kind, compassionate, devoted father, amazing husband and a man of God. In between our deep moments of grief, the only thing that keeps us going through this devastating loss is the fact that Doug was the happiest he has ever been in his career, his life with his family and his new home. He was a man of God and a believer and instilled those values into his children. I know one day we will see him in heaven again.
Our family has been overwhelmed with an outpouring of love through friends, family, clients, business associates, colleagues and our church family. There have been so many that have reached out to us, it has been difficult to respond to everyone. Our main focus at the moment is ensure financial stability for Doug’s wife, Hillary and his young family. We have established this Go Fund Me Page to provide for the future financial needs of his wife and 3 children. Doug's loss is every parent's worst nightmare and we can't begin to imagine the difficulties that his young wife is facing at this moment. Any donation would be deeply appreciated. Your prayers are greatly needed as we have a long road ahead of us as we navigate a life without our beloved son, husband and father.

"Friday July 12th was the hardest day of my life. I woke up to what I thought was going to be a normal day with my beautiful family. My handsome loving husband who suffered a massive heart attack 1 hour into our morning. He was a loving father to Ethan (14), Noah (12), Hayden (5). He loved our kids so deeply and strongly. He was so very proud of each and every one of them and made sure to celebrate every accomplishment. My husband Douglas Wayne Bergman was a beautiful person. He could make friends with anyone and knew how to light up a conversation leaving everyone with a good laugh or smile. He was so very smart and a man of many talents. He had so much passion, drive and so much love to give. I don't know what I am going to do without him. He was truly amazing and I feel so blessed and honored that god put him and our beautiful children in my life."
