Don’t let them shut off our water!
Three months ago, while upgrading the sewer pipes, the company that replaces them found a leak that was either their fault or from the old, brittle pipes. The lateral is property of the homeowner and we are now hit with the bill. The city offers an small abatement to help with replacing these lead lines, but we have to pay the difference. This is between $4,500 and $5,000. This is not something we are prepared for, as we have just caught up from the fire we had. I hate asking for this, but now they are going to shut off the water if we do not remedy this situation. The water disconnect is set for tomorrow, 8/15. We are just a few hundred dollars away from being able to set into contract. Thank you so much for all your help. As long as we are in contract, they won’t shut off our water.
Edgewater Plumbing is going to do the work, $3,875 which is cheaper than the only other person in town that can do it.
