It was barely two short months ago that our lovely Donna found a lump in her breast that changed life as she knew it.
One lump turned out to be two which turned out to be Stage 3 breast cancer.
Already well into the chemo journey, she is tackling cancer in the same way she has always tackled life; with strength, courage, grace and humour.
There are few things that Donna allows to defeat her and we know this latest hurdle is one she will overcome with her own particular brand of sunny confidence.
Donna has an army of friends worldwide who want to do everything they can to help and support her – and she and Mark are already overwhelmed and incredibly appreciative of the outpouring of love.
Losing her hair has been only one of the several confronting realities of fighting cancer. There are endless and expensive medical appointments, extreme fatigue and facing the ongoing chemo journey itself.
The level of care Donna is receiving is second to none and she is in the best of hands. But unfortunately there are many aspects of her care that are not covered by private health or medicare and it is already taking an exorbitant and surprising financial toll.
As passionate as Donna is about her work, right now and in the coming months, her focus is solely on her recovery and caring for her boys and so this fund has been set up by her friends to allow her to do just that.
